CASE STUDY
Rebuilding a Chipped Marble Corner
THE BEFORE — detail before restoration
The Challenge
A worktop corner had chipped through to the substrate, and the surrounding marble carried a distinctive, irregular veining pattern that would be difficult to disguise with a generic filler.
The Process
The missing corner was rebuilt and the veining hand-matched to the surrounding stone, then polished back to the same sheen as the rest of the surface.
THE PROCESS — restoration in progress
The Detail
Colour, grain or veining, texture and finish were all checked against the surrounding surface before the repair was considered complete.
THE DETAIL — matching the surrounding surface
THE AFTER — completed restoration
BEFORE / AFTER
Compare the result.
Result
The corner now reads as continuous stone rather than a repaired edge, with the veining following through the restored section.
